Be the Inspiration!
The Las Vegas Spring Mountains Rotary Club has begun our 2018/19 Rotary Year – and it’s going to be a great one!
Past support of our community through participation with Project-150, the Spring Valley High School ‘Student-of-the-Month’ program, Opportunity Village volunteers, the Global Charity Foundation, and Hearts Alive continue stronger than ever.
Our newest youth program is the Employment Mentoring Program currently in development and scheduled to be implemented in February of 2019. The program is designed to help Project-150’s homeless student population learn the basics about the work world, develop a resume, practice the all-important job interview, and ultimately obtain their first job on their career path.
The Employment Mentoring Program will need the support and encouragement of the Las Vegas business community, so if you’ve ever wanted to lend a hand in overcoming homelessness – especially among our most vulnerable youth population – please contact us. Better yet, join us in our regular Wednesday evening meetings and see how you can become a contributing member with Rotary, one of the most successful service organizations you’ll ever find.
Our regular meetings are held Wednesdays and feature speakers on a variety of interesting subjects. On the 2nd Wednesday of each month, our speakers will address topics like Estate Planning, Trusts and Wills, Medical Development in Las Vegas, Master Gardening, Solar Energy and more. The speakers at our 4th Week meetings each month provide us an opportunity to have informal conversations with the people who make our Las Vegas community one of the greatest places to live; people like The Thunderbirds from Nellis AFB, the Development Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs, UNLV and the Smith Center, plus many more.
